Who Wants Beady Eye From Oasis Frontman?
Beady Eye is Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock. In other words, the frontman from Oasis and three other guys who played with Oasis. So Beady often sounds like the nineties powerhouse. What's a little surprising is that the band's lyrics seem to make as much sense as Noel's did. But it's still catchy stuff. Roller is a fine tribute to snotty and silly Lennon, Four Letter Word sounds like a snarlier, less clever power pop Redd Kross, Bring the Light sounds like pre-1970s rock and roll before it became self-important, and the Man of Misery demo twists Green Onions into a short raw blast. I haven't heard the whole record yet, but I'm not sold so far. March 1st is the release date in Canada for the debut album entitled Different Gear, Still Speeding.
